Submission Guidelines for Authors Seeking Representation

Thank you for your interest in seeking representation with Hyponymous Literary. We’re always excited to connect with authors who bring compelling voices, sharp ideas, and distinctive perspectives to the literary landscape.

If you believe your work aligns with our vision, we invite you to submit a proposal for representation.

How to Submit

Please email your submission directly to one of our agents listed on our Our Team page. Take a moment to review each agent’s interests and specialties to ensure the best fit for your work.

What to Include in Your Submission

Attach a single document (PDF or Word) to your email that includes the following:

• Book Overview: A short (about 200 words) description of your proposed book.

• Author Bio: A short (about 200 words) professional biography.

• Comparable Titles: Three books published in the last five years that you feel are comparable to your own (with a sentence or two on why).

• Online Platform Details:

  • Your website address

  • Email list size (if applicable)

  • Social media handles and current follower counts

• Professional Network & Public Engagement (optional):

  • A summary of your professional affiliations or network

  • Your current speaking schedule or history (if applicable)

• Table of Contents: So we can see the structure of your book.​

• Sample Pages: The first 10 pages or a chapter of your manuscript.

We only accept submissions via email and do not consider physical mail or unsolicited phone queries.

Due to the volume of submissions, we are unable to respond to every proposal. If we are interested in moving forward, an agent will contact you within 4 weeks.
